Job certifications can help improve your profile as a job candidate. They usually do not take very long, and many of them are either free or inexpensive. Here are a few places to find them.

LinkedIn Learning Certifications

LinkedIn offers certifications on subjects such as marketing, manufacturing, and web design. Not all of them are free, however. “But if you take the time to search for them, it’ll be well worth it,” says Paige Doepke, writer at Jobscan

HarvardX

Yes, THAT Harvard. You can audit a class for free, or receive job certifications for a small cost.

Cybrary’s Project Management Professional

Cybrary’s Project Management Professional course teaches how to initiate, plan, and manage projects, and takes around five hours to finish. Project management shows hiring managers that you are skillful at taking a leadership role and solving problems. It’s also good for engineers, healthcare professionals, and people in finance, Doepke says.

Dash Online

This Dash free course teaches the basics of web development, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, all with projects you can operate in your browser.

Free Code Camp

With Free Code Camp, you can learn the basics of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, GitHub, and others. Coding is in high demand and makes an employee more valuable to a company. This camp is aimed at beginners, and these quick certifications can really beef up a resume, Doepke says.

Microsoft Learn

The courses at Microsoft Learn provide job certifications in database, web, cloud, virtualization, business development, advanced analytics, and more.

Massive Open Online Courses

Many respectable universities offer these in an open online course system, including topics such as marketing, writing, and history, according to Open Culture.

Google Digital Garage

Inexpensive certifications can be found at Digital Garage for search engines and social media.

HubSpot Inbound Marketing Certification

This course from Hubspot teaches SEO, blogging, and conversion analysis, and can show entrepreneurs and startups that you can help them grow their business.

A few of these certifications added to your resume may make a world of difference in your job hunting.
