Our History
Automation Personnel Services was founded in 1990 by Stephen and Leslie Nordness.
They started with a small, local staffing service, and as they learned the business, expanded into other markets. Automation now has 40 branch offices in eleven states.
All branch offices are corporately owned and managed. Over the years our revenue has grown to over $180 million in revenue and we have over 37,000 contingent employees.
Every year since 2012, Automation has been recognized as one of the “Largest U.S. Staffing Firms” by Staffing Industry Analysts. Of the more than 17,000 U.S. staffing firms surveyed, Automation Personnel Services consistently ranks among the top 1 percent.
Since 2016, we are proud to receive the coveted Best of Staffing Client Satisfaction Award!
This award is based on a survey of our customers, without input from Automation. For four years in a row, the majority of our customers surveyed stated they would recommend Automation to a friend or colleague. In 2019, we are proud to add the Best of Staffing – Talent Satisfaction Award to our list of achievements.
Automation Personnel Services recently earned the Safety Standard of Excellence Mark® for our commitment to provide a safe work environment for all employees. This program was developed by the American Staffing Association and the National Safety Council to promote staffing industry-wide safety standards. This is awarded to select companies who meet best practices for safety excellence.
